Portrait Displays Launches Display Tune® for Windows® 7
New Plug-Ins for Application Tuning, Power Savings, and Multi-Monitor Added to Display Tune
Portrait Displays, Inc., a global leader in visual enhancement software solutions for computer display applications has added Windows 7 compatibility and new functionality to Display Tune as part of its ongoing Plug-In strategy.
Display Tune Plug-Ins further enhance the management of displays by adding innovative features: Power Savings to reduce over all power consumption, Application Tuning to match preferred display settings with application and content, and Multi-Monitor support for easier control of multiple displays attached to the same system.
Power Management Plug-In
Power Management Plug-In goes beyond simple control of the back light to reduce power consumption. It makes it easier to reduce the overall luminance of the display from the task tray, right-clicking on the desktop, or directly from Display Tune.
A scheduler is included to place the display in standby or power-off mode at any time. To reduce overall power and extend the life of the display it can be powered off on the weekends and then powered up during normal business hours for call-center usage, or it can be set to standby mode in late evenings for home use. All power setting features supported by the operating system are synchronized with Display Tune’s Power Management Plug-In.
Application Tuning Plug-In
Application Tuning Plug-In is an easy way to load custom display settings for each application. Any display settings can be saved as a preset and then automatically loaded when the application is launched.
For content such as DVD or video playback, the user may want highly saturated colors, for text-based applications such as Word or Excel a high contrast, low brightness setting might be desirable, and for web browsing sRGB is the color setting of choice.
Application Tuning allows individual settings to be applied to each application upon launch so the content is viewed the way the user expects. Once the application is closed, the display is restored to its previous settings.
Multi-Monitor Plug-In
Multi-Monitor Plug-In makes it easy to identify and control multi-monitor configurations within Display Tune. With support for up to four connected displays, any display can be selected and adjusted without having to relocate the Display Tune on-screen control panel to the targeted display’s desktop.
Each display is shown within the application with its model name and serial number for easy recognition, even when right-clicking on the desktop. To adjust the display simply select it from the list and Display Tune will verify its capabilities to provide only the controls supported within that display’s firmware.
Compatible with Windows 7
Display Tune has been tested to meet all of the technical requirements to be Compatible with Windows® 7. Users can install and know with confidence that Display Tune will work flawlessly with Windows 7 and all compliant applications installed on the system.
