Portrait Displays and Colorist Inc Partner to Support Working Professional Colorists
Portrait Displays is now the official calibration partner of Colorist Inc, a private community for professional colorists founded by colorist, image scientist, and ASC Associate Cullen Kelly.
Colorist Inc gives working pros a complete suite of professional grading tools, in-depth masterclasses, live sessions with leading colorists, and a global community of peers. Through this partnership, members get exclusive pricing and priority support on Portrait Displays’ industry-standard calibration tools, including Calman®, helping colorists ensure their displays are accurately calibrated and ready for professional work.
Cullen Kelly is a colorist, image scientist, and educator, as well as an Associate Member of the American Society of Cinematographers. His color grading work includes an Academy Award-nominated film, shows for Netflix, HBO, and Apple, and he’s contributed VFX work and imaging expertise to films including Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Deadpool & Wolverine, and The Electric State.
As an image scientist, he’s partnered with legendary film chemist Dr. Mitch Bogdanowicz and cinematographer Steve Yedlin, ASC, to create Genesis, a premium film emulation DaVinci Resolve plug-in used by top colorists and post houses worldwide.
“Every decision a colorist makes depends on trusting the image in front of them,” said Kelly. “Portrait’s tools are the standard for a reason. Giving our members a direct line to them means less time second-guessing their monitors and more time doing great work.”
