Portrait Displays Brings Apple CMF 2026 Support to Calman®
Pleasanton, CA — March 18, 2026 — Portrait Displays, the global leader in display calibration and measurement solutions announces that Calman is the world’s first stand-alone calibration software now supporting Apple’s all-new Color Matching Function, Apple CMF 2026, delivering professional creators a workflow for a new option in perceptually matching white point alignment across multiple display technologies including Apple Studio Display XDR display.
Calman Ultimate has a dedicated Apple CMF 2026 workflow, guiding users through measuring and calibrating white points on multiple displays. Users can apply the workflow with any supported spectroradiometer via Calman. The workflow provides two practical paths: verification, to measure how closely a display aligns with the Apple CMF 2026 target, and calibration, to adjust displays so multiple units converge on the same white point in multi-monitor setups.
Calman’s New Apple CMF 2026 Workflow
Even when calibrated to the internationally standardized D65 whitepoint for color television production based on color matching functions from the CIE 1931 standard, modern wide color gamut display technologies like OLED, QD-OLED or Mini LED backlight based LCD technologies can appear different due to spectral differences of narrow color bandwidth color reproduction.
As narrow bandwidth RGB panel technologies typically amplify metamerism, the workflow improves repeatability and visual consistency compared to legacy “reference-first” matching by enabling both displays to target the D65 illuminant using Apple CMF 2026. The operator has the option to follow two paths using the new Apple CMF 2026 Workflow:
-
Verification: Validate the white point and grayscale tracking of a display that has been calibrated using Apple CMF 2026
-
Calibration: Align primary and secondary displays by calibrating the white points to the Apple CMF 2026 target
Color Matching Functions can be accessed in all license levels, while the full Apple CMF 2026 workflow is available exclusively in Calman Ultimate. It works with any spectroradiometer supported by Calman, enabling advanced use cases such as research, fine-tuning, perceptual display matching, and evaluation of Apple Studio Display XDR.
Calman Ultimate’s Apple CMF 2026 workflow leverages these capabilities to provide reliable, consistent calibration across all creative workflows. “Calman stays ahead of tomorrow’s color standards by introducing today’s innovations, including Apple CMF 2026,” said Jason Ramirez, VP of Product Management at Portrait Displays. “With our advanced color science lab and R&D team in Lynnwood, Washington, Portrait Displays continues to push the boundaries of calibration and display technology. We’re proud that Calman is the first standalone calibration software to provide a dedicated workflow for validating and calibrating using the Apple CMF 2026.”
