Complete Uninstallation of Calman

This article outlines the procedure to fully remove all Calman application files, folders, and registry entries from a Windows PC. This process is intended for cases where a complete clean uninstall is required (e.g., troubleshooting, hardware repurposing).

Note: To preserve license data for a reinstall on the same system, skip the license deactivation and registry deletion steps (steps 1 and 4).


1. Deactivate Calman License

Note: Skip this step to preserve licensing information for a reinstall.

    • Open Calman.
    • Navigate to: Calman Menu → Licensing.
    • Click Deactivate.

2. Uninstall Calman from Windows

    • Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
    • Select Calman and click Uninstall.

3. Delete Calman Data Directories

Delete the following directories if they exist:

    • User Documents:
      • C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Portrait Displays\Calman
        • Calman Legacy Versions: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\SpectraCal\Calman
    • Program Files:
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Portrait Displays\Calman
        • Calman Legacy Versions:C:\Program Files (x86)\SpectraCal\Calman
    • ProgramData (may be hidden):
      • C:\ProgramData\Portrait Displays\Calman
        • Calman Legacy Versions: C:\ProgramData\SpectraCal\Calman

Note: To access ProgramData, enable Show hidden files and folders in: Control Panel > Folder Options > View > Hidden files and folders > Show hidden files, folders, and drives.

4. Delete Calman Registry Keys

Note: Skip this step to preserve licensing information for a reinstall.

    • Press Win+R, type regedit, and press Enter.
    • Locate and delete the following registry keys if they exist:
      • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Portrait Displays, Inc\Calman
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Portrait Displays, Inc\Calman

Completion
After performing the above steps, Calman and all associated user data, application files, and registry entries are removed from the system.
