Calman users may experience calibration issues when using the LG Internal Pattern Generator on 2025 LG C5 models in Calman v5.16.7 (all license levels) when connecting with the 2025 Alpha 9 Gen 8 source option.
The issue can be identified by a noticeable crushing of black in the grayscale measurements. During grayscale calibration, near-black levels remain black for too long as the grayscale response emerges from black, resulting in poor grayscale calibration.

Workaround
Until this issue is resolved, use the following workaround:
- When connecting to the TV in Calman, select 2024 Alpha 9 and 11 as the source connection option instead of 2025 Alpha 9 Gen 8.
- Calibration can then proceed normally using the LG Internal Pattern Generator.
