Portrait Displays C6 Measurement Range

The figure below depicts the standard luminance response curves for the C6 HDR5000 and C6 HDR2000 colorimeters across a wide dynamic range. Both devices exhibit identical performance up to the C6 HDR2000’s maximum luminance threshold of 2,000 nits. Low-luminance measurement characteristics remain consistent between the C6 HDR5000 and C6 HDR2000. The C6 HDR5000’s expanded upper luminance range supports calibration of HDR displays in high-brightness picture modes.

log-log chart showing C6 luminance range measured against CS-2000 over 0.005 to 5000 nits
Figure 1: Luminance measurements of a NIST-traceable laboratory uniform light source were recorded using two C6 HDR2000 units and two C6 HDR5000 units, and compared against readings from the Portrait Displays reference spectroradiometer, a Konica Minolta CS-2000. The measurement range covered 0.005 nits to 2000 nits for the HDR2000 and up to 5000 nits for the HDR5000. Data are presented on a log-log scale.
